Based in Conway, Arkansas, Salter Construction, Inc. is one of the largest privately held, family-owned construction and real estate development companies in the state. Founded in 1976 by Gene Salter, the company quickly built a reputation for teamwork and commitment. Throughout his career, Gene has referred to his clients as “respected friends.” This camaraderie and team sentiment is rooted deep in our company history.

The Salter family’s passion, commitment, and experience is a central part of every project we deliver. These values remain true today and are the reason we were able to celebrate our 40th anniversary. This is a milestone which all of us at Salter are very proud of. There are more than a century of “lessons learned” incorporated into everything we do. This history gives us the insight and experience necessary to deliver maximum value for our clients and is a major reason Salter is recognized as a leader in the construction industry today.

We are steadfast advocates for our clients, our employees, and the communities in which we work. Through community involvement, sustainable business practices, and unwavering integrity, we are always striving to be better and do better. Our position and strength enables the company to provide additional value to our clients and opportunities for our employees.

Together, we are “Building Value.

Our rich history combined with our extensive knowledge of today’s ever-changing demands, allows us to deliver the best construction solutions for our clients. While many of the state’s largest builders have changed ownership, Salter is one of the few remaining family owned, privately held companies with solid financial footing and long-term stable management.

50-Year Legacy

In 2026, Salter Construction, Inc. will be turning 50 years old! Each decade has been a gift of helping craft communities where families can connect and businesses grow. It’s been an honor to serve our clients, who feel more like friends now, and we can’t wait to see what the next 50 years hold!

"Over the past 50 years, we’ve learned that building value means more than constructing projects — it means building relationships, earning trust, and standing behind our work for generations."
